Norm Blair | Elder

Norm is married to his wife Joy, and they have three children (Michael, Marla, and Ruth); a daughter-in-law Adriana; and three grandchildren, Mateo, Isabela, and Sabrina. A native of Chicago, Norm attended Wheaton College and the Indiana University School of Medicine, and has completed a University of Colorado Internship, a Harvard Ophthalmology Residency, a Harvard Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery, and a University of Illinois Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology. Additionally, Norm spent three years as medical missionary in Vietnam, and earned a Biola University Master’s degree student in Christian Apologetics. Norm loves lakefront trails, hiking, and classical music.

Jerry Klinkner | Elder

Jerry Klinkner can often be seen making his way all over Evanston/Chicago on his bicycle. He and his wife Wendy have been married for 35 years, and have three adult children: Adam, Heather, and Peter. Adam and his wife, Annie, have a daughter, Lily, and a son, Noah. Heather and her husband Bryan live in Phoenix, AZ, and are part of Roosevelt Church, a fairly new church plant. Pete and his wife, Annie, live in Bloomington/Normal where Pete just finished grad school. Jerry and Wendy have been quite involved in couple mentoring at EBF - to both engaged and married couples. Originally from Hinckley, Minnesota, Jerry grew up on a farm, attended college in Duluth, served in the U.S. Army from 1968–1970 (He became a Christian in 1969 while he was in the Army), and moved to Evanston in 1972. He finished a Master’s in social work in 1979 at the University of Illinois. Jerry's favorite movies are The Blues Brothers, The Pink Panther and Star Trek, and he loves to read a good book.

Tim Van der Molen | Elder

Tim and his wife Birdie live in Skokie. They have two adult children. Their son, Tim Jr., works in the field of IT for the family business. Their daughter, Jane, is married to Brian Conley, lives in Morton Grove, and teaches high school special education classes. Tim was born in western Michigan, and then lived for several years in Tennessee before moving to Chicago to attend Moody Bible Institute. After graduation from Moody, he received a degree from DePaul University in Philosophy, studied engineering at IIT, and earned an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Tim owns and operates Integrated Facilities Solutions, Inc., which provides management services for construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.
